Palash Sen, the voice behind the popular Indian pop rock band Euphoria, is making hearts swell with emotions yet again. He has brought back one of the band’s most loved songs, Maaeri, after 25 long years. This soulful track, which was first released in the late ’90s, still connects deeply with listeners. And now, after more than two decades, Palash has re-recorded it, giving it a fresh but emotional touch.
Palash Sen Opens Up: “I Finally Understood the Song”
In a recent Instagram video, Palash Sen shared a clip from his new recording session. In the video, he’s seen passionately singing Maaeri once again. At the end, he softly says, “Maaeri, 25 saal baad, phirse,” (Maaeri, again after 25 years) followed by a gentle ask to his fans, “Phirse sunna hai na?” (You want to hear it again, don’t you?)
What’s even more touching is what he wrote alongside the video. Palash said that only recently did he truly understand the depth and meaning of Maaeri, even though he has sung it for so many years. “MAAERI. 25 SAAL BAAD DOBAARA. Ab aur kya hi likhun? Saari emotions daal ke ga raha hoon. Kyunki gaana pehli baar samajh aaya,” he wrote. This translates to, “MAAERI. Again after 25 years. What more should I write now? I’m singing with all my emotions because I’ve finally understood the song.”
Fans Overwhelmed with Nostalgia
As expected, fans flooded the comments with love, memories, and gratitude. Many said they were taken back to their school and college days. One fan commented, “Palash Sir… School time yaad aagaya” (Sir, this reminded me of school days). Another one wrote, “Beautiful era of music, sir. Took me back in time.”
Even comedian Vighnesh Pande chimed in, saying, “Sunna hai, baar baar sunna hai, dobaara bhi hazaaar baar sunna hai” (Want to hear it again and again, even a thousand times).
One emotional fan wrote a detailed comment about how Maaeri has stayed close to their heart through every phase of technology—from Walkmans and CDs to Android phones and Spotify. It shows how timeless the song truly is.
Euphoria’s Musical Legacy
Euphoria, with Palash Sen as the frontman, has been a big part of India’s indie pop scene. Apart from Maaeri, the band gave us unforgettable songs like Kabhi Aana Tu Meri Gali, Dhoom, Phir Dhoom, Alvida, Halla Bol, and many others. Their music has always stood out for its unique sound and deep lyrics.
A Song That Still Touches Hearts
Even after 25 years, Maaeri continues to strike a chord with listeners of all ages. With Palash Sen breathing new life into it, this version is not just a remake—it’s a heartfelt rediscovery. Whether you’re hearing it for the first time or grew up with it, Maaeri is a reminder of music’s power to connect us to our memories, our emotions, and to each other.
