Singer Rahul Vaidya recently found himself at the center of an unexpected online controversy involving cricketer Virat Kohli. It all began when Rahul commented on Virat allegedly liking a photo of actress Avneet Kaur. What seemed like a harmless joke quickly escalated into something much bigger.
Rahul Claims Virat Blocked Him
Rahul Vaidya shared on Instagram that Virat Kohli had blocked him. While fans were trying to figure out what happened, Rahul added a humorous twist. He joked that Instagram’s algorithm might be behind the chaos.
In a video posted to his Instagram Stories, Rahul said, “From now on, it’s possible that Instagram’s algorithm may like pictures on my behalf. So, any girl whose photo gets liked, please don’t do PR about it. It’s not my fault—it’s Instagram’s fault!”
Fans React with Anger
However, things took a serious turn when Virat Kohli’s fans started trolling Rahul online. Rahul said that not only was he getting abusive comments, but his wife, actress Disha Parmar, and his sister Shruti Vaidya were also being targeted.
This made Rahul furious. “Abuse me if you want, but why are you abusing my wife and sister?” he said. He also added, “Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than him. You’re proving my point by attacking people who have nothing to do with this.”

More Jokes About Instagram Glitches
In another Instagram Story, Rahul continued his playful tone. He joked, “So now Virat has blocked me. But maybe even that was the algorithm’s doing. Maybe it told Virat, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll block Rahul Vaidya for you.’” He ended the video with a salute, clearly trying to lighten the mood.
Rahul Says He’s Still a Fan of Kohli’s Game
Speaking to Zoom, Rahul said he still admires Virat Kohli as a cricketer, even though he doesn’t support him as a person anymore. “I don’t know why he blocked me. I was a fan, and I still like his game. But I can’t stand this kind of behavior,” Rahul said. He also clarified that his original post was meant as a joke and wasn’t meant to be taken seriously.
Kohli Responds to the Controversy
Virat Kohli later responded to the situation by posting a message on Instagram Stories. He said, “While clearing my feed, the algorithm may have accidentally liked a picture. There was no intention behind it. Please don’t assume anything.”
Even after this statement, Rahul and his family are still receiving negative comments online.
