The film is supposed to be based on cricket against the backdrop of communism. Reportedly, Kapil Dev will have a cameo appearance in the film.

Rajnikanth’s role in the movie is more than just a cameo. This means he would be on screen for a considerable amount of time not just in one or two quick instances.
Rajnikanth is playing the character Moideen Bhai. His first look in the film has been revealed in a new poster.
Aishwarya Rajnikanth has returned to filmmaking after a gap of seven years with Lal Salaam. Recently, she wrote on social media, “Making a movie with you is a miracle and you are pure magic appa (father)… Lal Salaam, Moideen Bhai… and it’s a wrap for THE SUPERSTAR.”
The film has already been shot and promotional works are going on. The makers, Lyca Productions took to Twitter to reveal the poster and captioned: “Everyone’s favourite BHAI is back in Mumbai. Make way for #Thalaivar Superstar #Rajinikanth as #MoideenBhai in #LalSalaam (sic).”
Meanwhile, on the work front, actor Rajnikanth will be seen in TJ Gnanavel’s ‘Thalaivar 170’ and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Thalaivar 171.’ Aishwarya Rajnikanth’s last directorial venture was Vai Raja Vai, a Tamil action thriller that had her husband and actor Dhanush in a cameo.
