Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated mythological epic Ramayana has crossed a major pre-release milestone, generating more than ₹100 crore in advance bookings across India ahead of its theatrical debut on November 5, 2026. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, the film is attracting strong interest from moviegoers across several languages and major cinema markets.

According to the latest figures reported by The Telegraph, citing Sacnilk, Ramayana has recorded approximately ₹104.58 crore in advance-booking gross, including blocked seats. Around 27.69 lakh tickets have reportedly been sold across 87,881 shows in 907 cities. The numbers place the film beyond the ₹100-crore mark even before its first theatrical show.

The latest figures represent a rise from the earlier reported total of ₹96.64 crore, when approximately 25.68 lakh tickets had been sold across 83,087 shows in 898 cities. The pre-sales have continued to grow as the release date approaches, reflecting the scale of anticipation surrounding the film.

Ramayana Advance Booking: Hindi Version Leads Language-Wise Collections

The Hindi version is contributing the largest share of Ramayana’s reported advance-booking collections. The Telugu and Kannada versions are also recording substantial pre-sales, while Tamil and Malayalam screenings are adding to the film’s overall reach.

Here is the reported language-wise advance-booking breakdown:

Hindi: ₹85.37 crore

Telugu: ₹8.57 crore

Kannada: ₹7.86 crore

Tamil: ₹2.23 crore

Malayalam: ₹54.74 lakh

The figures indicate that Hindi-speaking markets are currently driving the bulk of the domestic advance sales. However, the collections across Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam versions also underline the film’s multi-language theatrical strategy.

Delhi-NCR Leads Ramayana Advance Booking; Mumbai and Bengaluru Follow

Among the major Indian markets, Delhi-NCR is currently leading the reported city-wise advance-booking collections. Mumbai and Bengaluru are also contributing significantly, while Hyderabad and Pune feature among the other strong-performing centres.

The reported city-wise figures are:

Delhi-NCR: ₹15.07 crore

Mumbai: ₹12.93 crore

Bengaluru: ₹10.63 crore

Hyderabad: ₹5.99 crore

Pune: ₹4.29 crore

The strong response across these markets gives the film a broad domestic opening footprint. With screenings available across hundreds of cities, its pre-release performance is not limited to a single region or language market.

Ramayana Gets Strong Response in Overseas Markets

The excitement surrounding Ramayana is also extending beyond India. North America is emerging as a major overseas market for the film, with paid-preview sales reportedly generating more than $1.20 million.

Advance ticket sales for the opening weekend in the United States are also approaching $3 million, according to the reported trade figures. Australia and the United Kingdom have shown interest as well, adding to the film’s international pre-release momentum.

These overseas numbers are particularly significant for a large-scale Indian theatrical release. The response across international markets will be an important factor in assessing the film’s overall opening performance once it reaches cinemas.

BookMyShow Sees Ramayana as a Major Pre-Diwali Theatrical Event

The advance-booking response has also drawn attention from cinema-ticketing platforms. Ashish Saksena, COO – Cinemas at BookMyShow, described the film’s pre-sales trajectory as the arrival of a major theatrical event.

In a statement shared ahead of the release, Saksena said that nearly one million tickets had been sold through BookMyShow, making Ramayana the biggest movie title on the platform for the pre-Diwali period. He also pointed to the film’s potential to set new box-office benchmarks during the festive release window.

The BookMyShow figure reflects ticket sales on that platform, while the Sacnilk figures track a wider set of reported advance-booking collections. These numbers should therefore be read as separate indicators rather than added together.

Ramayana: Cast, Director and Release Date

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. The first instalment is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 5, 2026.

Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi portrays Sita and Yash takes on the role of Ravana. The ensemble cast also features Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Anupam Kher, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan and Lara Dutta.

With its domestic advance bookings now reported to have crossed ₹100 crore and overseas pre-sales adding to the anticipation, Ramayana is heading into its theatrical release with considerable commercial expectations. The advance figures offer an early indication of audience interest, but the film’s actual box-office performance will ultimately depend on audience reception, reviews and its ability to sustain footfall after the opening day.

The first major test begins on November 5, when audiences finally get to experience Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation on the big screen.
