The world is indeed united by culture and cinema is an important part of cultural links and exposure worldwide. As an integral part of world cinema, the 2022 Marrakech International Film Festival at Morocco, the festival celebrated Indian cinema by awarding Ranveer Singh the prestigious Etoile d’or Award for his work in Indian cinema.
In an Instagram post, Ranveer Singh was seen dressed in a maroon sherwani and was visibly ecstatic. Naturally, since the actor who gave hits such as Band Baaja Baaraat, Bajirao Mastani, and Gully Boy was being celebrated so far from home in Morocco, a testament to the power of Indian cinema. In the post, Ranveer clearly alluded to the culture force of cinema, stating emphatically:

“Cinema is a unifying force! I feel immensely honored that my work has transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, and has earned me such love and recognition in beautiful Morocco. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude! Thank you to the Marrakech International Film Festival for bestowing me with the prestigious Etoile d’or Award! Proud to be an ambassador for my culture and represent Indian Cinema on the world stage! @marrakechfilmfestival.”
And being the high-octane person that he is, Ranveer Singh sang a rap song from Gully Boy and even put on an energetic dance performance. In his words, “I feel compelled to sing you a song, or do you a dance, or show you a movie, or tell you a story”.
The film festival runs from November 11th to November 19th and is the first edition after 2019. Previous Indian film stars honored by the Marrakech Festival include Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan.
Celebrate Christmas with Ranveer Singh on silver screen
Coming to movies, Ranveer is slated to be seen next in the Rohit Shetty directed movie ‘Cirkus’. This movie is scheduled for Christmas this year. After Cirkus, Ranveer has the movie Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani lined up for release. This Karan Johar directorial will hit the big screen on April 28, 2023.
