Why did Virender Sehwag walk off the Rise And Fall 2 stage?
The confrontation began with a disagreement between Gautam Gulati and Manish Kashyap over nominations and Gautam’s decision as Ultimate Ruler. According to India Today’s October 28, 2026 report, Manish objected to Gautam’s game and accused him of repeatedly crossing boundaries. The exchange intensified as other contestants joined the discussion.
The dispute continued when Sehwag arrived for the Power Play segment. As Gautam and Manish continued arguing, the host walked off the stage, leaving the contestants to continue their confrontation. He later returned to address the situation.
What did Sehwag say to Gautam Gulati?
After returning, Sehwag questioned Gautam’s conduct during the exchange. A report by Free Press Journal said the host appeared irritated when Gautam continued arguing while resting his leg on a sofa.
Sehwag challenged the actor over his manner of addressing the host and said the behaviour was unacceptable. The exchange unfolded as the contestants continued to interrupt one another, making it difficult to settle the original disagreement.
Sehwag also expressed frustration with the atmosphere inside the house. Describing his expectations of the programme, he contrasted a celebrity show with what he called a “criminal wala show”. The remark reflected his displeasure with the language and confrontational behaviour displayed during the argument.
Why did Sehwag bring up Shoaib Akhtar?
Sehwag subsequently used an experience from his cricketing career to make a point about responding to provocation. According to Free Press Journal, he recalled an alleged verbal confrontation involving former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar during his early international career.
Sehwag said he had chosen not to respond to the alleged abuse and instead focused on his performance. He referred to his 309-run Test innings, using the anecdote to encourage contestants to avoid escalating arguments and let their actions speak for themselves. The account was presented as Sehwag’s recollection during the show.
What happened to Manish Kashyap after the argument?
The confrontation also affected the game’s power dynamics. As reported by India Today, Gautam, acting as Ultimate Ruler, ultimately sent Manish to the Basement after the nomination-related dispute. The episode also featured Sonam choosing to step down herself, while other contestants discussed shifting loyalties and alliances.
