Sharib Hashmi Recalls His Struggling Days, Reveals His Wife Sold Her Jewelry To Provide Food In The House

The journey to success is often paved with trials and tribulations, and actor Sharib Hashmi’s path to stardom is an example of resilience and determination. Revisiting the days of struggle before his big break in Bollywood, Sharib recently opened up about the challenges he faced, and the unwavering support of his wife.

When Sharib made his Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in “Jab Tak Hai Jaan,” little did the world know of the hurdles he had overcome to reach this milestone. The actor candidly spoke about the auditions that became his routine after he took the daring step of quitting his job to pursue his dream in the film world.

“All I did after quitting my job was to audition. I also had the responsibilities of my wife and our child. My savings started depleting, and I began asking friends for loans. I don’t think there was a single friend whom I had not approached for money,” Sharib shared, revealing the financial strain that burdened him during those trying times.

Amidst the trials and the uncertainty, Sharib’s wife emerged as his pillar of strength. She stood by his side through thick and thin. To support the family during their darkest days, she sold her jewelry. Sharib even sold their house to make their ends meet. 

As the struggle persisted for three long years, Sharib made a pivotal decision to take a job once again. He joined Sony TV as an in-house writer, scripting for anchors on their shows. However, fate had different plans for him. It was through a short film titled “Mehrooni” that Sharib’s talent was recognized, ultimately leading him to his debut in “Jab Tak Hai Jaan.”

The year 2009 marked a turning point for Sharib, as he embraced acting full-time and took the leap of faith. Since then, he has continued to impress audiences with his versatile performances.

In the recently released film “Tarla,” Sharib portrayed Huma Qureshi’s husband with remarkable authenticity, showcasing his prowess as an actor.
