Popular actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen are back together on screen after three years. Their last film together was the Malayalam movie 19(1)(a) in 2022. Now, they are starring in a Tamil film titled Thalaivan Thalaivii, directed by Pandiraj. The film promises to be a fun and emotional ride, filled with love, drama, and sharp humor.

First Teaser Gives a Sneak Peek

The makers recently released the teaser of Thalaivan Thalaivii, which was earlier known as ‘VJS 52’. The teaser opens with a scene of food being cooked, setting a homely and warm tone. But things quickly take a turn as the characters of Vijay and Nithya begin to argue in a quirky and fiery way.

At first, the mother-in-law and sister-in-law are heard speaking kindly to Nithya’s character, Arasi, saying she will be treated like royalty. Then, Vijay Sethupathi’s character adds sweetly, “You have left your parents and come with me. I’ll treat you like a queen.”

But right after, the mood shifts.

Love Turns into War

In a funny yet intense cooking scene, both characters are seen using large knives aggressively, hinting at their love-hate relationship. The couple, who once shared sweet words, are now throwing sarcastic comments at each other.

Nithya’s character questions him, “Is this how a king pampers his queen?” To which Vijay’s character responds harshly, telling her to return to her father’s house if she doesn’t like it. She confidently replies, “For me, my home is a palace!”

Their playful fight continues with each calling the other ‘sir’ and ‘madam’ sarcastically. In one funny moment, Nithya says, “I wonder why I got on your bike,” and Vijay replies, “Get down, madam, who stopped you?”

Tension and Comedy

Things heat up when Nithya threatens to rub Vijay’s face in a parotta pan. He quickly covers his mouth with a scarf to stop himself from saying more, but she still says, “Even when gagged, you don’t stop talking!”

Comedian Yogi Babu then appears and breaks the fourth wall, saying to the audience, “They are not normal people like us. Believe me.”

But just as viewers begin to enjoy the comic tone, the teaser surprises them with a twist—Vijay’s character fires a gun in front of a group, including Nithya’s character, who looks scared and shocked.
