Written by R Ramanand, “Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer” is a period fantasy drama set in the 9th century. The film follows the story of Kadamattathu Kathanar, a Christian priest with magical powers. Jayasurya will portray the titular role, while Anushka will play the character of Kalliyankattu Neeli, described as a bloodthirsty ghost with divine beauty.

The film is set to be released in two parts, with the first part expected to hit screens this year. To rich to a wider audience the makers are planning to dub the movie in different languages including English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Chinese, French, Korean, Italian, Russian, Indonesian, and Japanese
