Bhajan Samrat, Anup Jalota, recently performed at Satsang Sarita in remembrance of his father and guru, Shri Purushottam Das Jalota. He has shared some photos from his musical performance on his official page on Instagram. Minal Kothari, a student of Purushottam Das Jalota and an accomplished musician, accompanied the maestro with her mesmerizing instrumental.
The veteran musician captioned, “Bhajan Sandhya on the sacred memory of my Father and Guru, Shri Purushottam Das Jalota.”
Jalota is considered a master musician in the genre of Bhajan in Indian music and was honored with Padma Shri in 2012. At the age of 70, he is often seen touring around the world, enchanting audiences with his heartwarming devotional music. Anup Jalota’s popular songs are He Saryu Maiya, Aisi Lagi Lagan, Govind Bolo Hari Gopal Bolo, Solah Baras Ki, Ganesh Chalisa, Shreeman Narayan Narayan Hari Hari, Laxman Shakti, Palanhar, to mention a few.
His father and guru, Shri Purushottam Das Jalota was also an eminent Indian classical singer best known for his devotional bhajans.
