Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is all set to surprise fans once again with a powerful new role. She has been confirmed as the female lead in the upcoming big-budget film by South superstar Allu Arjun and director Atlee. The film is currently titled AA22xA6, and it promises to be a massive cinematic experience.
This announcement comes just days after Deepika made headlines for stepping away from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Spirit”, which led to many rumors and discussions online.
The Big Reveal
On Saturday, Sun Pictures, the production house behind AA22xA6, shared a teaser video on social media. The video features Deepika Padukone chatting with director Atlee and later preparing for an intense role. In the clip, fans get a glimpse of concept art showing her as a warrior—fighting with a massive battle axe and performing action-packed stunts.
Deepika can also be seen training, practicing moves in a studio, and shooting scenes with motion capture gear on. One impressive shot shows her on a CGI horse holding a weapon, looking ready for battle.
The caption read:
“The Queen marches to conquer! Welcome onboard @deepikapadukone #TheFacesOfAA22xA6 #AA22xA6 – A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures.”

Fans Go Wild Over the Announcement
Fans were quick to react to the exciting update. Many expressed their excitement over Deepika playing a fierce, action-packed role. Comments like “Deepika Padukone Action Goosebumps” and “She looks so badass here” started trending on social media.
Some fans couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at her exit from “Spirit.” One person wrote, “She doesn’t need Vanga,” referring to Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of the film she left.
Controversy Around ‘Spirit’ Exit
Deepika’s departure from “Spirit” stirred quite a bit of controversy. Some reports claimed she demanded ₹25 crore and a 10% share in the film’s profits. However, other sources defended her, saying she only requested an 8-hour workday—something reasonable as she is a new mother.
Despite the noise, Deepika has now clearly moved on to something even bigger.
Not Her First Pan-India Film
This isn’t Deepika’s first time working on a grand, pan-India project. She earlier appeared in “Kalki 2898 AD”, a futuristic epic directed by Nag Ashwin. That film featured stars like Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan and was a huge success. Deepika is also expected to return for its sequel.
