The unique voice of pop diva Shweta Shetty imparted a bold touch to these upbeat songs, which became major smash. Shweta Shetty, who had been away from the showbiz for a significant amount of time, confers not just pop music but also a new definition of music. The world first saw her spiritual dimension when she made her comeback the previous year with “Gayatri Mantra.”
Talking with Jay-Ho! The Jay Kumar Show, Shweta Shetty revealed a lot of interesting stuff on everything from her comeback to the shift in her musical career. She explained why she opted to sing a song that wasn’t in her usual genre.
As a singer who has covered opera, pop, bollywood music, and jazz, Shweta adds, “It was really challenging for me to convince people that I can sing Bhajans too. And every time I brought up the concept, someone would always tell me it wouldn’t suit me. I wanted to dispel the stereotype that existed about me among the public. Fortunately, I got the opportunity and sang the entire song in one go. I sang it really passionately, like if it were a dream come true.”
When asked how this significant transition in her life, from the ramp to the padyatra, from Dil Tote Tote Ho Gaya to Gayatri Mantra, she responded, “At some point, everyone gets that call. And because my father was so spiritual, I’ve always had a spiritual bent. At the age of 19, the sibling of my father attained Maha Samadhi. To the Himalayas he went. I believe that I am the only person in the family who leans toward spirituality. As a result, I believe it is entrenched within me from birth. As you age, your wisdom increases, and the world around you pushes you in this path. I am also currently developing a spiritual part of myself. This is the reasoning behind the gayatri mantra, the tirth yatra, and the padyatra. The end result of everything is one.”
Shweta went on to say that she had been singing since she was just ten years old. Using a toothbrush as a microphone, she sang in the bathroom. She listened to Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and all of her other favorite artists. Dance, Music or any form of artistic expression, according to her, is a natural talent.
Does Shweta favor Karan Johar on Nepotism?

One way I can comprehend the whole nepotism thing, she continued. “Since it is ingrained in their DNA and runs in their blood, I can understand why Karan Johar chooses starkids in his movies. Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, and other starkids are just so amazing and naturally talented, and no acting school can ever teach you that. You are born with this, so to speak. Likewise, I inherited my mother’s gift from her. And that is the only possession I can claim. Music is in my blood. When I’m in a studio or on stage, I’m at my happiest. Having so many opportunities to exhibit my music makes me happy.”
Reason behind being away from limelight
Why does Shweta not appear on any reality shows despite being one of the most well-known vocalists in the biz? Shweta explains, “Many people have questioned me as to why I am not on any panel for reality programs.Honestly, nobody has asked me for it. It’s also possible that I spent 20 years away in Germany. I returned in 2015, and in the pandemic years of 2019–2020, I gradually began to recapture my musical vibe. I would certainly like to partake in something like this, though.”
