Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal are reportedly returning to reprise their roles in the much-anticipated third installment of the Hera Pheri franchise, which began its shooting on Tuesday. The movie is said to be directed by Farhad Samji. Earlier, there were rumours that Akshay Kumar had stepped out of the cult comedy franchise. There were reports that Kartik Aaryan will join Paresh Rawal’s Baburao and Suniel Shetty’s Shyam after Raju quit playing his part. It was then announced, however, that Akshay will be returning to play Raju once more, completing the trio with Paresh Rawal’s Baburao Ganpatrao Apte and Suneil Shetty’s Shyam.
According to reports, actors Akshay, Suniel, and Paresh started the film’s shooting in Mumbai on Tuesday. All the three stars are all delighted and enthusiastic to return to the set, including producer Firoz Nadiadwala.
The series’ introductory movie was released in 2000. Tabu, Om Puri, and Gulshan Grover were also featured in the classic comedy. Hera Pheri was written by Neera Vora and was directed by Priyadarshan. The Hindi movie is a remake of Ramji Rao Speaking in Malayalam (1989). For the follow-up, Phir Hera Pheri, which was released in 2006, Akshay, Suniel, and Paresh also made a comeback. The third movie had been directed by the writer Neeraj, but after his untimely death in 2017, it was put on hold for a while.
Phir Hera Pheri’s final scene hinted at what was to come. The trio were living in a lavish mansion in the sequel, but due to their greed, they lost it and fell back into poverty. They link themselves with criminal elements once more. And, now the fans have been waiting to learn the outcome since Phir Hera Pheri ended in suspense.
We hope to see the comedic trio soon on screen and make everyone laugh madly.
