6 Miss Worlds from India

Reflecting on India’s illustrious journey with the Miss World pageant, it becomes evident that the nation’s path has been truly extraordinary. Boasting a remarkable record, India has produced six Miss World winners till date. The journey commenced in 1966 when Reita Faria clinched the coveted title, setting a precedent for Indian beauty. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan added to this legacy in 1994. Diana Hayden continued India’s winning streak in 1997, followed by Yukta Mookhey in 1999. The turn of the millennium brought forth yet another beacon of Indian beauty, Priyanka Chopra, who secured the crown in 2000. And in 2017, Manushi Chhillar adorned India’s crown collection with another jewel.

This occasion marks a momentous milestone for India, as it prepares to host the Miss World pageant after a hiatus of 27 years. The last instance when the nation had the honor of hosting this prestigious event was in 1996.
