Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma’s upcoming release Zwigato had a grand trailer release on Wednesday in Mumbai. At a press conference where Kapil and the director Nandita Das spoke at length about their film, they shared the Korean audience’s reaction after the film was screened at the 27th Busan International Film Festival in October 2022.

In the media interaction, Kapil mentioned how the movie touched a chord with the South Koreans and made them cry. “People were crying there, and they didn’t even know that I’m known for comedy. So, I don’t think there’ll be any disappointment.” Kapil shared. Kapil also spoke about how the movie is an effort to experiment with genres beyond his usual work. “I do comedy 2 hours a day on my show, but I’m not like that for 24 hours. There are several facets to my personality, which I’d like to show.”

The movie stars Kapil as a food delivery agent and Shahana Goswami as his wife. The story centers around Kapil who has to work for a food delivery service after losing his job while his wife wants to work to help the family make ends meet. The movie is a radical departure for Kapil who is known for his comedy both on TV and film.

Zwigato premiered internationally at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival in September, followed by Asian premiere at the 27th Busan International Film Festival in October. At both places, audiences reacted positively

Jay-Ho! The Jay Kumar Show, wish Kapil Sharma the very best for Zwigato, and we are sure that it is full of emotions which could swoon the whole world like the Koreans.
